Even the Pros need a Pro: Lessons from my Brand Photography Session

I recently celebrated the third anniversary of Stephanie Lynne Photography - it’s hard to believe it’s been three years already! When I started, my budget was tight, and hiring a professional brand photographer for my website and social media images was not in the cards. So, my husband helped me capture some very lovely pictures of Koda and myself - and they served me quite well for the past couple of years. I got to thinking that this year would be the year I book my professional photo session with a photographer specializing in brand photography - after all, I encourage my clients to hire photographers in the pet photography niche. So, I took my advice!
I must admit that the process was eye-opening because I was able to experience a professional photo session from a whole new perspective! The goal was to show potential (and repeat) clients who I am and what they can expect when they book with me. Well - the experience was seamless, organized, and fun, and I love the results!

While the booking was seamless, choosing my wardrobe was interesting - what to bring?? Laurelyn set me up with great parameters, but the rest was up to me. I’ll admit, selecting the wardrobe was the toughest part for me. But, on session day, all was good and my photographer kept the session on track and was a perfect guide throughout the entire two-hour session. She even incorporated some very fun images and video of me working with a client and her pup! Nothing was overlooked, and my photographer's warm and reassuring presence instantly put me at ease. Her ability to create a relaxed and comfortable environment allowed me to focus on bringing out the best in my client’s dog. With Laurelyn’s expert direction and guidance, I felt confident in every pose and every click of the camera.
Throughout the session, my photographer effortlessly managed every aspect, from locating the best lighting and backgrounds to capturing the perfect angles. Her attention to detail and dedication to her craft was evident, and her ability to capture the true style and vibe of my business was truly remarkable. The best part? The resulting images surpassed my expectations. My personality, warmth and professionalism was conveyed in each image and the photographs showcased the uniqueness of my business, creating a visual representation of what sets me apart as a pet photographer.
