What to Expect from a Full-Service Dog Photography Experience in Southeastern Wisconsin
You already have hundreds of photos of your dog on your phone—but what if you could have something more? Something that captures their quirks, expressions, and the way they light up your life?
That’s where I come in.
I’m Stephanie, a professional dog photographer (and longtime dog trainer) based in Waukesha, Wisconsin. I offer full-service photo sessions designed to capture your dog’s personality and turn those moments into high-quality, lasting artwork for your home. Whether we’re working in-studio or outdoors, I guide you through the entire process, so it feels easy, enjoyable, and entirely focused on your dog.
Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how it all works.
A Session Built Around Your Dog
No two dogs are alike—and your session shouldn’t be, either. My background in professional dog training and canine behavior means I know how to meet dogs where they’re at, from high-energy adventurers to nervous rescues and sweet seniors.
Using a mix of positive reinforcement, body language awareness, patience, and experience, I tailor each session to help your dog feel confident and comfortable. Whether we’re in the studio or at one of my favorite dog-friendly parks, the focus is always on creating a space where your dog can just be themselves.
Easy, Personalized Planning
Once you inquire, we’ll hop on a short planning call to talk through your goals, your dog’s personality, and what kind of images or artwork you're hoping for. You’ll also fill out a quick pre-session questionnaire so I can learn what matters most to you.
I’ll help you choose the right session type and location, and share my Dog Photography Location Guide—a curated list of scenic, dog-friendly spots throughout Southeastern Wisconsin, from wooded trails to lakeside parks.
Whether you’ve done a photo session before or this is your first time, I’ll walk you through every step.
Two Session Styles to Choose From
You can choose between an outdoor adventure or a studio session—both designed to suit different types of dogs and families.
1. In-Studio Dog Photo Sessions (Waukesha, WI)
My dog-friendly studio is calm, clean, and totally customized for pets. There’s plenty of space for movement, a variety of sets, and the comfort of knowing weather or distractions won’t get in the way. It’s a great option for dogs who are reactive, shy, or simply prefer a quieter environment.
2. Outdoor Dog Photo Sessions
Prefer natural light and a more relaxed vibe? We’ll meet at one of my favorite locations in Southeastern Wisconsin during golden hour to take advantage of that gorgeous, soft light. These sessions are perfect for active dogs or anyone who loves that outdoorsy look.
I’ll help you choose a spot that suits your dog’s personality, energy level, and your vision for the final artwork.

The Viewing + Design Appointment
Once your images are ready, we’ll meet for a personalized viewing and ordering appointment—either in person or virtually. You’ll get to see a curated gallery of your dog’s best images, and I’ll help you narrow down your favorites.
We’ll also talk through options for printed artwork, so you can create something that truly fits your space and style.
Artwork That Brings It All Home
I believe your dog’s story deserves to be printed—not lost in a digital folder. That’s why I offer a curated selection of high-end products that are made to last a lifetime.
A few client favorites:
The Heritage Series – museum-quality brushstroked wall art, handcrafted in the USA
Keepsake albums – designed to hold your dog’s full gallery in a beautiful, tactile way
Matted folio boxes – versatile, frame-ready fine art prints stored in a handcrafted display box
Whether you’re dreaming of a statement piece for the wall or something more intimate to hold and flip through, you’ll walk away with something you can love for years to come.
More Than Just Pretty Pictures
This experience isn’t about posing your dog and calling it a day. It’s about celebrating your bond, your dog’s personality, and the role they play in your life.
Clients often tell me that this experience helped them slow down and really appreciate their dog in a new way. And when the artwork is delivered? It’s not just about what’s on the paper—it’s about the feeling it brings every time you see it.
